There was a news report today about a German court in Regensburg that convicted British bishop Richard Williamson for denying the Holocaust in TV interview. The punishment: 12,000 Euros. After an appeal, the fine was reduced to 10,000 Euro.
I have a few things that I don’t really get about this news report. Matthias Lossmann, Williamson’s lawyer, claimed that his client explicitly asked the TV people in Sweden not to broadcast his interview in Germany. From that I learn that it is quite OK to deny the holocaust in Sweden, and that the catholic church is really living in the stone age. You know, the time when it is OK to abuse kids, to spread hate about Jews and to not know a damn thing about YouTube.
