Monarchie & Alltag

Neue Bands und wichtige Filme: „As long as the music’s loud enough, we won’t hear the world falling apart“.

** ‘Should I Stay or Should I go’ by the Clash,
** ‘Better Man’ by Spring King and
** ‘The Dream’ by The Oh Sees.

* A record that will make you dance?

We definitely get our grooves on when Michael Jacksons ‘Bad’ gets a spin.

* Your favourite song lyrics?

** Guro: So many great lyrics out there but I’ve always loved ‘A Case of You’ by Joni Mitchell.
** Richard: ‘Prototype’ by OutKast.
** Luis: ‘O Pato’ by Jayme Silva and Neuza Teixeira.

* The best “new” artist / band right now?

Chance the Rapper, guess he’s not completely fresh out of the oven but we absolutely love him:
Great tunes, great vibe, great guy.

* Your favourite song by Prince?

G: Got to be ‘Kiss’ for me. Get’s my hips moving.
R: ‘I Wanna Be Your Lover’, really gets my hips moving.
L: I think something that really gets my hips moving is “Breakfast Can Wait”.

* Your favourite song about rebellion/revolution?

‘What’s Going On’, the whole record, Marvin Gaye, legend.

* Your favourite song of the last year?

Close call between ‘Red Eyes’ by War on Drugs and ‘Can’t do without You’ by Caribou, they are both brilliant.

* Your favourite movie about music?

Bit of a tough one this, but it got to be Spinal Tap.

* The most overrated band/artist?

Music is so individual and what sounds good to us might not sound good to someone else. There’s no right or wrong in music. That’s why it’s great.

* The best song you’ve ever written / recorded?

G: Hmm it kind of changes with my mood and where I am and what I have been up to. But at the moment i’m very pleased with ‘Something About You’, think we did a good job there.
R: Really enjoyed recording ‘Stone’, had lasers and strobes going on.
L: There’s a song that didn’t make the record but will come out later, it’s called ‘Shadows’.

* Your favourite german song/record?

Guro: There are some bangers out there but ‘Autobahn’ by Kraftwerk is pretty special.
Richard: ‘Rusty Nails’, Moderat.
Luis: Heard Heino’s ‘Saoyanara’ 3 years ago and it’s still playing in the back of my head. Every. Day.

* Your favourite record of all time?

Is this when we say ‘All We Are’?
G: This question is the hardest one I get. As I said earlier it’s all about what i’m up to and what kind of mood i’m in. But there is always one record i keep coming back to, that i like listening to in different scenarios, and that’s ‘Bad’ by Michael Jackson. So i think that is the one.
R: Very tough to say, but in recent times it would be ‘Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City’ by Kendrik Lamar
L: Although very tough to say, mine is Bill Evans ‘The Paris Concert: Edition 2’. Really gets my hips moving.

Das Debütalbum von All We Are erscheint nächste Woche.
