As the Right increases popularity in many EU nations, it send hate-filled messages out into their nations. It also brings reminders of what this last produced – Hitler, Mussolini and many others.

The nature of Rightist followers is that they play on group fears, economic disarray, scapegoating targeted “others”, speak about anti-Muslim/anti-Semitic ideas, act with violence against those targeted. Their platforms are bare – hate and fear dominate.

Germany’s AfD is found mainly in the former East German states but also throughout the nation. The East still waits for a fulfilling of the promises made, faces higher unemployment and a destabilized sector – all frighten many.

Yet, Merkel’s bold move last year welcoming about 1+ million refugees just overwhelmed German fears. The nation is aging and needed an influx of those seen as traditional entrepreneurs/business people – that would spread tax revenues, allow Germany more flexibility go act from economic strength and improve their social benefits programs

Instead, populists and demagogues rose to leadership and violence against targeted scapegoats raised its ugly head.
