The Sleaford Mods
They are the only band that springs to mind that are angry,articulate,politicised and manage to retain a good balance of humour.

* Your favourite release on the ON-U Sound Label?

Thats a difficult one as I’m not really able to pick just one out.I think “Pay it all back Volume 3″ was a good taster of what Onu Sound was all about at the time but that was only a compilation.Im proud of most to be honest,but for different moods created.”Miracle”,”Learning to cope with cowardice”,”The modern sound of Harry Becket”,”Songs of Praise” ? .Thinking about it, i can’t properly answer the question as right now thinking about it I’m thinking that the last record i worked on even is the best and that is “Late night Endless”

* Your favourite song about rebellion/revolution?

“New Beginnings” by Congo Natty.

* Your favourite movie about music?

Rockers.

* The most overrated band/artist?

I’d rather flip that to the most underrated ! I really don’t like “dissing” anyone .I may think bands are horrible but it is not in my nature to publicly slag anyone off.Truthfully though a lot of acts get massively successful and i can’t for the life of me understand why.

* The best song you’ve ever written / recorded?

“Survival and Resistance”, i think …I’m proud of this album and although its not as well known as a lot of other things I’ve worked on it is more personal.

* Your favourite german song/record?

Yü Gung !! von Einstürzende Neubauten. That was my first experience working in German.Influential/great band.

* Your favourite record of all time?

another very difficult one to answer but, “Presenting Burning Spear” is probably my most played album.
Played it last week.Spear sounds like a voice from another time and world.

Mark Stewart & The Maffia: “As The Veneer Of Democracy Starts To Fade”).

  • Anspieltipp aus dem A.Sherwood Umfeld: Gary Clail On-U Sound System – The Emotional Hooligan (1991)

    + ein nettes zitat aus wikipedia: As someone who considers himself tone deaf, the producer focuses on making sounds and noises rather than melody.
