Neue Bands und wichtige Filme: „As long as the music’s loud enough, we won’t hear the world falling apart“.

* Your three favourite Punk singles/songs?

I haven’t listened to any Punk music in years..

* Your favourite song to get drunk to?

I don’t drink at all.

* A record that will make you dance?

I secretly dance to a song Tori Amos wrote and recorded in the 90s, it’s called „Raspberry Swirl“, it kind of reminds me of what Madonna did on „Ray of Light“.

* Your favourite song lyrics?

Can I name three? The first is „The Man Who Sold The World“ by David Bowie:

„We passed upon the stair, we spoke of was and when
Although I wasn’t there, he said I was his friend
Which came as some surprise I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone, a long long time ago“

The second song is „I love you Golden Blue“ by Sonic Youth:

„I don’t glitter like the stars above
I don’t glow like neon alone
Don’t blush, it’s just the wind outside
Don’t rush to be by my side“

The last one is a pretty much unknown piece by Leonard Cohen, ‚Coming Back To You‘:

„There are many in your life
And many still to be
Since you are a shining light
There’s many that you’ll see
But I have to deal with envy
When you choose the precious few
Who’ve left their pride on the other side of
Coming back to you“

* Your favourite song by Neu! ?

Just listened to them for the very first time, I liked a song called „Lieber Honig“.

* The best “new” artist / band right now?

Oh, that’s hard, I haven’t payed much attention to what’s been going on for the past 12 months. I try not to compare artists so I really can’t tell who’s the „best“.

* Your favourite song about rebellion/revolution?

Can’t think of anything, at least not a song about revolution. Maybe that’s because I don’t like being preached to in a song.

* The best song this year so far?

„Amen“ by Leonard Cohen and „Boat Turns Toward the Port“ by Soap&Skin.

* Your favourite movie about music?

„Bird On A Wire“ about Cohen.

* The best song you’ve ever written / recorded?

I just released my first EP but I’m working on some new stuff, I’ve recorded a demo of a song which I believe will be one of the best on my future full length album, it’s called „Cold Blood“. I’ll debut the demo version of it at the concerts in Hamburg and Berlin next week.

* Your favourite german song/record?

Nothing comes to mind.

* Your favourite record of all time?

I must name more than one again, I currently love: „Boys for Pele“ by Tori Amos and „The Man Who Sold The World“ by Bowie.
But it changes all the time.
