A propos verschroben! Sein Eintrag in die My Favourite Records Rubrik dürfte auch einer der schrägsten sein:
* Your three favourite Punk singles/songs?
The word Punk is as worthless as any other hell bent, worm spunk, formed by yuppies who can’t make music themselves. Your staring into another man hole some raving idiot bent down and labeled Punk. A sliver of a spark of time later and you get a few lazy frontrunners who adopt this word in order to sell a few more records. Do you like the band? Is it good? Who are they? Are they punk? Your thrusting your weak and brittle hips against somebody else’s building. It inabels the part of our population, with tunnel vision, to lump allot of „energetically hightened music“ into the same zip lock bag with no room to breathe. Grab a knife and slice at the belly of that metaphorical bag. Or take a pencil and poke at it a hundred times or so.
That being said, one of my favorite bands for prostitutes to dance to is without a doubt, Mr. Martin And The Spooks or as sometimes refered to as Mr. Ping And The Pops. They’re easy to catch on the St. but excruciatingly hard to see live. I hope we hear more from them in the future. They are getting rather old but you’d still have to work pretty hard to get something past em. Old ain’t dead.
* A record that will make you dance?
Anything that sends the right foot to tapping.
* Your favourite song lyrics?
I dislike most songs with lyrics these days. It’s All Right Ma I’m Only Bleeding’s pretty damn near perfect I suppose. Thought that at sixteen and I’m still thinkin‘ so at 30.
* The best “new” artist / band right now?
I wouldn’t know, but hit me up if somebody takes the reigns, from Dr Funkenstein. It’s probably happening and I’m in the dark on it.
* Your favourite song/score on a soundtrack for a David Lynch movie/series?
I like the wind in his pictures.
* Your favourite song about rebellion/revolution?
The hole just gets smaller and smaller. I don’t hear em that way. I’m not intellectualizing everything. Don’t know how to answer this. Most of what you look for in a song probably gets lost on me, more or less.
* Your favourite song last year?
How many rabbits can y’all fit into a thimble?
* Your favourite movie about music?
I’m trying to think of one that shows the true creative process. Documentaries are best yet I can’t think of one. Most manage to muck it up by focusing on everything else but the process itself because the filmmaker or powers to be find that in engaging the probing electric tunnel, they’ve somehow missed something cinematic. Go figure. They’re probably right, I certainly have enjoyed a few.
* The most overrated band/artist?
With a little help from marketing, it might be me.
* The best song you’ve ever written / recorded?
No offense, none taken, but you wouldn’t know it if I told you. We’re in the age of home recording.
* Your favourite german song/record?
Hansi Hinterseer
* Your favourite record of all time?
I’ll tell ya if I make it there and you still want me to at fifty.
I apologise for my failing sense of diction, my freckled verbal pallet and my use of incorrect grammer and punctuation.
