Die Post-Punk-Band Shame entstammt dem Umfeld der Brixton Windmill, das in den letzten Jahren mit die interessantesten Vertreter britischer Gitarre hervorgebracht hat. Im letzten Jahr hat die Band aus South London mit „Cutthroat“ ihr bereits viertes Album veröffentlicht, das zwar weder den direkten Punch wie das Debüt noch die hymnischen Qualitäten von beispielsweise „Adderall“ der Vorgängerplatte „Food For Worms“ hat, sich dafür aber als echter grower erweist.

Gewalt: Limiter

this kind of reminds me of The Fall when they discovered electronic equipment. The opening of the video also looks like it could’ve been filmed somewhere on the outskirts of Manchester. Very well trained horse.

Die Nerven: Barfuss durch die Scherben

This is the only band I’m somewhat familiar with. Love the classic 2010s indie rock vibe twinned with German language and krautrock themes.

Friends Of Gas. Ewiges Haus

This one scared me a little bit.
Trying to think of a sonic comparison but it’s so weird that I can’t.
I like how the raspy vocals end up so intense.

Messer: Taucher

the singer really sounds like a German David Byrne which is obviously epic. This video must have been crazy to film… surely it wasn’t in Germany?

Human Abfall: Überkatze

this is cool it reminds me of a heavier version of Blumfeld (my favourite German band). The drums almost sound like they were recorded in a different building to everything else which gives a nice lo-fi edge.

Tolerantes Brandenburg: Es regnet Kaviar

I thought this song was gonna sound something like Ween for some reason because the title made me laugh. I love the way this is recorded, honest and punky and lovely.
