Die amerikanische Industrial/Noise/Electro-Band HEALTH hat gerade ihr sechstes reguläres Album – neben vier Disco/Remix-Platten – veröffentlicht. „Crimewave“, ihre Kollaboration mit Crystal Castles von 2007, gehört immer noch zu meinen liebsten Songs des letzten Vierteljahrhunderts:
Aber auch auf ihren eigenen Platten sind HEALTH mit ihrer ganz eigenen Mischung aus stampfenden Drums, treibendem Rhythmen und krachenden Gitarren immer wieder aufs Neue faszinierend. Wir haben HEALTH eine handvoll deutschsprachige Songs vorgespielt:

Voodoo Beach – Meine Seele
2023 seems to be a good year for German synth pop + post punk inspired musics. The last revival we were around for had very bad production sound…all this stuff sounds very good.
Gewalt – Schwarz Schwarz
Feeling the music video it’s got a naughty aughties (00s) throwback vibe and the main riff being really reminiscent of Daft Punk’s „Da Funk“ (not from the 00s but very relevant for that time). I assume this is all intentional.
Die Selektion – Zeuge aus Licht
I’m noticing a trend of these German videos having high production value and excellent title FX.
