Es war eine kuriose und erstaunliche Meldung: die Bassisten der drei größten Manchester-Bands aller Zeiten haben zusammen eine Combo namens “Freebass” gegründet. Andy Rourke (The Smiths), Peter Hook (New Order / Joy Division) und Mani von den Stone Roses (jetzt Primal Scream) zusammen in einer Gruppe? Ein feuchter Traum für jeden Brit-Apologeten!
Doch der scheint schneller zerplatzt zu sein als man einen Ton hören durfte, denn Mani hat via Twitter in den letzten Tagen einen wahren Sturm an Beleidigungen gegen Hooky losgelassen. Hauptsächlich dreht es sich dabei um die Aktivitäten Peter Hooks, die sich mit dem Joy-Division- / Hacienda- Erbe beschäftigen (Bücher, Tourneen, etc):
